With these tips, you will find a well-fitting garment

A well-fitting garment not only looks good, but also feels good. It gives the wearer self-confidence and makes the overall look neat. It's often these clothes that we keep coming back to again and again – those pants that don't squeeze, that shirt that gives a little extra boost to our self-esteem, or that jacket that makes us feel instantly presentable.

How do you recognize a well-fitting garment?

When the garment fits well, it adapts to the movements of the body and looks harmonious. A well-fitting garment does not squeeze, bulge, hang or tighten, but feels as if it was designed just for you. A well-fitting garment, in its simplest form, dresses its wearer excellently.
However, it is important to remember that each of us defines the kind of fit we want from our clothes. It's perfectly fine to choose a larger size if you like a more relaxed look. For example, you might basically like loose tops and tight bottoms, or vice versa. The fit of clothes is a matter of personal taste - only you know what makes you feel comfortable and confident.

Here's how to find out your size

Finding the perfect fit can be a challenge. It is not realistic to expect that every garment will fit everyone. You may have ordered a piece of clothing online, but upon ordering, you notice that the size or fit does not meet your expectations. In such a situation, finding the right size can seem challenging - but don't worry, we'll help you choose just the right size!
In order to choose the right size and fit, it is good to take your own measurements. Measure the following:
  • Chest circumference: Measure from the widest point.
  • Waist circumference: Measure from the navel or the narrowest part of the waist.
  • Hip circumference: Measure from the widest part of the hip, which can be above or below the crotch.
Take the measurements from the top of the underwear, making sure the measuring tape stays straight. The measuring tape should feel tight, and you should use a mirror to help you measure. Write down the measurements, for example, on your phone or on paper. Next, compare your measurements with the product measurement table. We at Toive have two different size charts: women's and unisex. These product groups have their own tables, which are slightly different from each other.
Sometimes the dimensions coincide perfectly with a size. In that case, you can directly select it. But it's not uncommon to end up between two sizes. In this case, you should think about whether you buy the upper or lower part and what kind of fit you like - relaxed or tighter. Remember, you decide how you want the garment to fit!

Help with product-specific comparison

If you are still unsure between two sizes, you can compare the product-specific measurement tables with the measurements of your own clothes. For example, the leg length and waist circumference of your favorite pants can give you an indication of the right size. Please note that each product has its own product-specific measurement table.
In our online store, you can compare, for example, the dimensions of an existing t-shirt with the product's size chart. In addition, the material plays a big role in the fit - knitted products are flexible, while fabric products hardly give in.
With these tips, you are sure to find the right size and fit that looks good and feels good on you!
