We want to do our part in driving change toward a more responsible fashion industry. We create wardrobe staples that are versatile, long-lasting, and made to withstand both time and wear.

Design
Responsibility to us means, above all, quality, durability, and thoughtful choices. We design clothes that stand the test of time — both in style and in materials.
At Toive, responsibility is reflected in three key ways:
- Carefully designed products made to last
- High-quality, eco-conscious materials
- Ethical manufacturing
We select materials that align with the principles of sustainable development. They must also be easy to care for and durable — that’s why you won’t find delicate or hard-to-clean fabrics in our collection.
You can find detailed care instructions for each garment on our website.

Sustainability above all
We design clothes that don’t just end up in your closet — they’re made to be truly worn and to withstand everyday life, year after year. Every piece is carefully tested to ensure it keeps its shape and quality over time.
We don’t follow trends. Instead, we create timeless, trusted garments that adapt to different moments in life.

High-quality and ecological materials
We carefully select our materials to ensure they are durable, feel great to wear, and are environmentally responsible. Our fabrics include GOTS-certified organic cotton and recycled polyamide, among others.
For us, durability is the most essential ecological act — because the most sustainable garment is always the one that gets worn again and again.

Responsible manufacturing
Our products are responsibly made in Portugal and Lithuania. We work with manufacturers who share our values and ensure fair and safe working conditions for their employees.

From fiber to knit, from knit to garment
Our primary raw material is cotton. Currently, the majority of our products are made in Portugal by our trusted partner, Black Moda.
The raw material is sourced from an organic cotton wholesaler in Turkey and brought to Portugal for further processing. The yarn is knitted into fabric, which is then dyed or printed locally in Portugal.
The garments are sewn at Black Moda Portugal’s factory, located in the village of Ponte de Lima. The factory is Finnish-owned and operated.
You can find Black Moda Portugal’s sustainability report here. Toive’s own sustainability report is currently in progress.
What does organic cotton mean in practice?
The cornerstone of organic cotton farming is natural cultivation, which aims to preserve soil fertility and biodiversity while promoting the well-being of both people and the environment.
No synthetic pesticides or fertilizers
Rainwater is used as much as possible in the cultivation process
Organic farming binds more carbon dioxide in the soil compared to conventional farming

We do not accept cotton produced with forced labor
We do not use cotton from uncertain or unethical sources in our products — including cotton produced through forced labor in China’s Xinjiang region.
Our raw material is sourced from an organic cotton wholesaler in Turkey. Most of the cotton originates from Turkey, with some also coming from India, Uganda, and Tanzania.
All of our cotton is GOTS-certified organic, meaning it comes from regions that comply with the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) minimum labor standards. The Xinjiang region is not among these approved areas.

From wool to yarn, from yarn to knit
The 100% merino wool used in our knits is mulesing-free. Currently, our knitwear is produced in Lithuania in collaboration with our partner, Garlita.
The wool used in our knits comes from a trusted Italian wholesaler and originates from sheep raised in Chile. The wool is spun into yarn at Garlita’s factory in Lithuania.
All the yarns we use are of high quality and responsibly sourced.
