Toive vaatesuunnittelu.

Together towards a better wardrobe

PRODUCTION

We want to play our part in promoting change in the clothing industry. We believe that good clothing is born from careful choices – good design, quality materials, and reliable manufacturers. That's why we design clothes that will become trusted staples in your wardrobe for years to come.

Planning

For us, quality means, above all, considered choices. We design clothes that will maintain their place in your wardrobe year after year – both in style and materials. The things that are important to us are evident in three ways:

  • a quality-designed product suitable for long-term use
  • high-quality and carefully selected materials
  • reliable manufacturers

We choose high-quality raw materials suitable for their intended purpose. The materials must also be easy to wash and wear-resistant – which is why our selection does not include delicate or difficult-to-clean materials. On our website, you can find garment care instructions.

Clothes for real life

We design clothes that don't just end up in the wardrobe – but are actually worn and stay with you through everyday life, year after year. Every product is carefully tested to ensure it retains its shape and quality for a long time.

We don't chase trends; instead, we design timeless wardrobe staples that adapt to different life situations. Our goal is simple: to produce clothes that people want to wear again and again.

Materials

We carefully select materials based on their quality and comfort.

For example, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton, recycled polyamide, and mulesing-free merino wool. The most important aspect of material choices is that the garment lasts as long as possible.

From fiber to knit, from knit to garment

Our main raw material is cotton. Currently, most of our products are manufactured in Portugal, with our partner Black Moda.

The raw material is purchased from an organic cotton wholesaler and brought to Portugal for further processing. The yarn is woven into raw knit fabric, which is then dyed/printed in Portugal.

The clothes are sewn at the Finnish-owned and -managed Black Moda Portugal factory in the village of Ponte de Lima.

What does organic cotton mean in practice?

The most important cornerstone of organic cotton farming is organic production, which aims to preserve soil fertility and biodiversity, and to promote the well-being of people and the environment.

No synthetic pesticides or fertilizers

Rainwater is used as much as possible in the cultivation process

Organic farming binds more carbon dioxide in the soil compared to conventional farming

We do not accept cotton produced with forced labor

We do not use cotton from uncertain or unethical sources in our products — including cotton produced through forced labor in China’s Xinjiang region.

Our raw material is sourced from an organic cotton wholesaler in Turkey. Most of the cotton originates from Turkey, with some also coming from India, Uganda, and Tanzania.

All of our cotton is GOTS-certified organic, meaning it comes from regions that comply with the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) minimum labor standards. The Xinjiang region is not among these approved areas.

From wool to yarn, from yarn to knit

The 100% merino wool used in our knits is mulesing-free. Currently, our knitwear is produced in Lithuania in collaboration with our partner, Garlita.

The wool used in our knits comes from a trusted Italian wholesaler and originates from sheep raised in Chile. The wool is spun into yarn at Garlita’s factory in Lithuania.

All the yarns we use are of high quality and responsibly sourced.
