We want to contribute to making the fashion industry more responsible. We create wardrobe essentials that are versatile, durable, and withstand the test of time and wear.

Design
Sustainability means, above all, quality, durability, and thoughtful choices to us. We design clothing that stands the test of time—both in style and materials. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in three key ways:
- Carefully designed products built to last
- High-quality and eco-friendly materials
- Responsible production
We select materials that align with the principles of sustainable development. They must also be easy to care for and resistant to wear, which is why you won’t find delicate or hard-to-clean fabrics in our collection. You can find detailed care instructions for our garments on our website.

Sustainability above all
We design clothes that don't just end up in the closet – they actually get used and last in everyday life year after year. Each product is carefully tested to ensure it retains its shape and quality for a long time.
We don't chase trends, but rather design timeless, reliable clothing that adapts to different situations in life.

High-quality and ecological materials
We carefully select materials so that they are durable, feel good, and are environmentally responsible.
We use, among other things, GOTS-certified organic cotton and recycled polyamide. Sustainability is our primary ecological act – because the most sustainable garment is always the one that is worn for a long time.

Responsible manufacturing
Our products are responsibly manufactured in Portugal and Lithuania. We work with manufacturers who share our values and guarantee fair and safe working conditions for their employees.

From fiber to knitting, from knitting to clothing
Our main raw material is organic cotton. Currently, most of our products are manufactured in Portugal, with our partner Black Moda.
The raw material is bought from a Turkish organic cotton wholesaler and brought to Portugal for further processing. The yarn is woven into a raw knit, which is dyed/printed in Portugal.
The clothes are sewn at the Finnish-owned and managed Black Moda Portugal factory, in the village of Ponte de Lima. You can find Black Moda Portugal's sustainability report here. RIVA's own responsibility report is currently being worked on.
What does organic cotton mean in practice?
The most important cornerstone of organic cotton cultivation is organic production, the goal of which is to take care of soil fertility and biodiversity, and to promote the well-being of people and the environment.
No artificial pesticides or fertilizers
Cultivation utilizes as much rainwater as possible
Organic farming binds more carbon dioxide to the soil than normal

Certified organic cotton
GOTS -certified organic cotton: The GOTS certificate (Global Organic Textile Standards) covers the organic cotton yarn we use, its collection and production. The cotton is also BCI certified.
No poisons or chemicals
Öko Tex 100 certificate: Öko Tex means that at no stage of production are chemicals harmful to health used, i.e. workers are not exposed to toxic and dangerous chemicals.

We do not accept cotton produced through forced labor
We do not use cotton in our products that comes from unclear sources, such as cotton produced through forced labor by Uighurs in Xinjiang, China. Our raw material is sourced from a Turkish organic cotton supplier. While most of the cotton originates from Turkey, some also comes from India, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The GOTS-certified organic cotton we use is sourced from regions where labor practices adhere to the minimum requirements defined by the International Labour Organization (ILO). Xinjiang, where Uighurs reside, is not included in these regions.

From wool to yarn, from yarn to knit
The 100% merino wool used in our knits is mulesing-free. Currently, our knits are manufactured in Lithuania in collaboration with our partner, Garlita.
The wool used in our knits comes from Italian producers, sourced from Chilean sheep. The wool is spun into yarn at Garlita's factory in Lithuania. All the yarns we use are high-quality and responsibly produced.
